Finance : Little change in banking activity in third quarter of last year (PRIV)

International banking activity was little changed in the third quarter of 2016, with cross-border claims dropping slightly by $65 billion between end-June and end-September 2016 to reach $28.2 trillion, the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) has said.

The Republic of Ecuador, currently chair of the largest single coalition of developing countries at the United Nations, is reviving a longstanding campaign for the creation of an inter- governmental UN tax body and the elimination of tax havens and illicit financial flows.
