Trade : South nations demand credible, concrete outcomes on Doha at MC11 (PRIV)

Trade ministers from India, South Africa, Indonesia, and the ACP countries on Thursday called for credible and concrete outcomes based on the outstanding Doha issues at the World Trade Organization's eleventh ministerial meeting in Buenos Aires in December, according to people familiar with the development.

Trade : No consensus at OECD meet on trade, investment, climate change (PRIV)

Members of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the rich country economic group, at their annual meeting here on 8 June, failed to reach consensus on trade, investment, and climate change because of opposition from the United States that insisted on its own language which was not acceptable to others, people familiar with the development told SUNS.

Trade : Delays in handling appeals will have implications for WTO (PRIV)

The Appellate Body of the World Trade Organisation has at present been unable to fully staff all appeals pending before it, and the expected increase in the number of appeals in large and complex disputes will further exacerbate the problem of delays in their disposal, according to the Chair of the Appellate Body, Mr Ujal Singh Bhatia.
