Trade : WTO reports slight increase in G20 trade restrictions (PRIV)

A total of 42 new trade-restrictive measures, including new or increased tariffs, customs regulations and rules of origin restrictions were recorded for G20 economies during the period from 16 October 2016 to 15 May 2017, the World Trade Organisation (WTO) reported on Friday.

Africa : Premature continental free trade area a folly (PRIV)

The African continent - the African Union and its member-states - appears to be all set to launch negotiations and achieve a Continental Free Trade Area (CFTA).

Caribbean : Seeks to climate-proof tourism industry (PRIV)

The tourism industry is the key economic driver and largest provider of jobs in the Caribbean after the public sector. Caribbean tourism broke new ground in 2016, surpassing 29 million arrivals for the first time and once again growing faster than the global average.
