Major developed countries and their allies in the developing world have upped the ante for launching negotiations on electronic commerce at the World Trade Organization's eleventh ministerial meeting in Buenos Aires beginning on 10 December. They have issued a fresh call for pursuing negotiations under a new mandate as opposed to the 1998 e-commerce work program, trade envoys told SUNS.
