Trade : Moves for permanent solution for PSH for MC11 ministers (PRIV)

With about seven weeks to go for the eleventh Ministerial conference (MC11) in Buenos Aires, attempts appear to be currently under way at the WTO to push the major unresolved issues of the mandated permanent solution for public stockholding (PSH) programs for developing countries to the wire and for trade ministers of major nations to finalise an outcome at MC11.

The African Group has formally circulated on 20 October, as a restricted official document, the full statement that it had delivered at an informal meeting on the Work Programme on Electronic Commerce on 16 October.

Health : Global campaign to smoke out tobacco firms from UN body (PRIV)

The world's tobacco companies - which have been widely ostracized in the UN system - may be ousted from one of their last fortified strongholds in the United Nations: the International Labour Organization (ILO).
