United Nations : IGE on FfD focuses on resource mobilisation (PRIV)

The first session of the Intergovernmental Group of Experts (IGE) on Financing for Development at the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) has focussed on the challenges faced by developing countries and international community with regard to mobilising domestic public resources, as well as on international development cooperation.

A stock-take session of the UNFCCC's Ad Hoc Working Group on the Paris Agreement (APA) took place on 9 Nov, presided over by Co-chairs Sara Baashan (Saudi Arabia) and Jo Tyndall (New Zealand), to assess progress on the steps towards producing a draft negotiating text of the implementation of the Paris Agreement (PA).

The climate talks in Bonn could be a historic moment if Parties are able to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the Kyoto Protocol (KP) by ensuring the entry into force of its second commitment period (CP2), said developing countries at a press conference organised by the Like-Minded Developing Countries (LMDC) along the side-lines of the 23rd session of the Conference of Parties to the UNFCCC (COP23) on Nov. 9.
