Trade : US claims no basis for safeguard consultations on its S.232 actions (PRIV)

The United States has informed China that there is no basis for safeguard consultations at the World Trade Organizati on on the additional duties it has imposed on steel and aluminum, emphasizing tha t the Presidential Proclamations under S.232 of US trade law are aimed at adjusti ng imports, threatening national security.

A number of practices by Israel with regard to the Occupied Palestinian Territory have imposed economic costs on the Palestini an people, either by obstructing their economic activity or impeding economic advancement and development, a new study by the United Nations Conference o n Trade and Development (UNCTAD) says.
