Despite conflicting messages by the Unite d States and China about tamping down the threats of a trade war between them , major developing countries - China, India, Brazil, and South Africa among o thers - face a concerted assault on their special and differential flexibilities by the US and its allies in the North.

Trade : Panels set in Canada-US softwood lumber disputes (PRIV)

The Dispute Settlement Body (DSB) of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) on Monday agreed to establish two panels, both at the request of Canada, to examine countervailing and anti-dumping d uties imposed by the United States on imports of softwood lumber from Canada.
