While there has been some progress on whistleblower policies and practices in UN system organisations, all organi zations need to continue improving in terms of their written policies, pay particul ar attention to the practices associated with supporting those who do report, and proactively protect those persons from retaliation, says a report by the UN 's Joint Inspection Unit (JIU).
