The European Union wants to jettison the Marrakesh Agreement that established the World Trade Organization in 1995 b y doing away with the consensus principle, by altering the special and differ ential treatment architecture, and by enhancing the role of the WTO Secretariat in ways that would severely undermine the member-driven principles.
