United Nations : UK government policies inflicting great misery on the poor (PRIV)

The policies of the government of the Unite d Kingdom have unnecessarily inflicted great misery on the working poor, sing le mothers, people with disabilities, and millions of children who are being l ocked into a cycle of poverty, a United Nations human rights expert has said.

Ministers of BASIC (Brazil, South Africa, India and China), at their 27th ministerial meeting held in New Delhi, India, on 19-2 0 November, urged "developed countries to take urgent actions to close the pre-2020 implementation gaps by 2023 which can be a useful input for the fi rst GST (global stocktake)".
