South countries firmly oppose change in S&DT architecture (PRIV)

China, India, South Africa and many other countries on Wednesday (27 February) firmly opposed any change in the curre nt architecture for special and differential treatment (S&DT) at the World Tra de Organization, rejecting calls from the United States and its allies to intr oduce "differentiation" among developing countries for availing the S&DT, trade e nvoys told SUNS.

The impasse in the WTO's Appellate Body (AB ) is "clearly of utmost concern and urgency", and WTO Members need to come up with answers and start working on all possible options now, the Director-Ge neral of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), Roberto Azevedo, said on Wednesday.
