Trade : South reacts sharply against US notification requirement proposals (PRIV)

A large majority of developing countries on Thursday sharply rejected the onerous and burdensome notification requireme nts proposed by the United States and several other countries at the World Trad e Organization (WTO) that call for naming and shaming "administrative measure s", trade envoys told the SUNS.

Trade : Panel set to examine Turkey's duties on Thai air conditioners (PRIV)

A special meeting of the WTO Dispute Settlement Body (DSB) on Thursday agreed to establish a dispute panel, at t he request of Thailand, to examine additional duties imposed by Turkey on impo rts of air conditioners from Thailand.

Mexico : Migrant farm workers, main victims of slave labour (PRIV)

"They mislead the workers, tell th em that they will be paid well and pay them much less. The recruiters and the employers deceive them," complained Marilyn Gomez, a migrant farm worker in Mexico.
