Member governments of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) adopted the Summary for Policymakers (SPM) of the "Special Report on Climate Change, Desertification, Land Degradation, Sustainable Land Management, Food Security, and Greenhouse Gas Fluxes in Terrestrial Ecosystems" (also called the "Land Report") and the underlying assessment report on 7 August in Geneva at the 50th Session of the IPCC, twenty-two hours behind schedule.
