Trade : Facilitator issues draft GC decision addressing US concerns over AB (PRIV)

The facilitator for addressing the impasse at the World Trade Organization's Appellate Body (AB) has circulated a draft General Council (GC) decision. The draft aims to assuage the concerns raised by the United States about the AB's failure to adhere to the Dispute Settlement Understanding (DSU).

Climate : Main issues facing UN climate talks in Madrid (PRIV)

Amidst continuing protests in Chile, the annual climate talks under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), originally scheduled to take place in Santiago, will now kick-off in Madrid, Spain, from 2-13 December 2019, with the Chilean Minister of Environment, Carolina Schmidt, presiding over the talks.

During the 25th round of climate change negotiations starting Monday in Madrid, Spain, African civil society organisations will call on governments from both developing and developed nations to play their promised roles in combating climate change.
